About the Position
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Soccer Instructor to join our team and play a lead role in the development of young soccer players. As a Lead Soccer Instructor, you will be responsible for leading our instructional soccer program by teaching fundamental soccer skills, instructing in the knowledge of game play and facilitating scrimmages all while ensuring a FUN and educational experience for our participants. The Lead Soccer Instructor will also provide direction and guidance to staff soccer instructors.
Summer => June 29 - Aug 10 - Saturday Shifts - approximately 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
Fall => Saturdays and/or Sunday shifts available (Times TBD)
Responsibilities
- Instructional Skill & Development
- Teach young athletes (ages 3-12) the fundamental skills and techniques of soccer, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending
- Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance player's soccer abilities (Practice Plans created and provided by i9 Sports)
- Facilitate/officiate game-day scrimmages focusing on executing fundamental skills, techniques, having FUN and sportsmanship
- Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance
- Complete mandatory pre-season training sessions (compensated)
- Safety & Supervision
- Ensure the safety of all participants during each session
- Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive environment
- Address any safety concerns promptly and appropriately
- Communication
- With the help of established platforms, communicate game day information to players and parents
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, fellow staff members, and management
- Address questions, concerns, and feedback from parents and participants professionally
- Customer Service
- Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
- Must be 18 years or older
- Previous experience coaching or playing soccer
- Knowledge of soccer rules and regulations
- Extremely reliable and responsible
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents
- A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
- Availability to work each weekend of the given season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall)
- Ability to efficiently solve problems
- Ability to motivate and manage others (i.e., staff and volunteer coaches)
- Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass national background check
